Developing Strenght & Power in order to run faster

What is the difference between Strenght Training and Power Training?
Strength training involves lifting heavy things a few times (3-5×3-6 at 80+% x 1RM) and power training involves lifting lighter things a few times but very fast (3-5×5-8 at 30-60% x 1RM). An example of a strength exercise would be a squat and a box jump would be a power exercise. To be able to run fast you´ll need to allow your body to “develop the equipment” for it, and therefore both of these exercises are important. Obviously, you need to be careful to not jump straight into these exercises if you’ve never lifted a finger in the past, but there’s no need to just give in to old father time either!
